Searchwise is a consultancy focused on search technology and its uses, with a particular emphasis on searching the Web.
We are involved in three primary activities:
- Writing and analysis. We write extensively about Web search for several information industry trade publications. We cover both the major search engines and small companies and research groups developing innovative new search technologies.
- Speaking and training. Searchwise's president, Chris Sherman, is an internationally known speaker. Chris is a regular speaker at most of the major conferences for information professionals. He also speaks for company meetings and conducts lively workshops designed to sharpen participants' searching skills, regardless of their ability levels.
- Consulting. We maintain an extensive knowledgebase of information about the key players operating in the search arena and the products and services they offer. We perform competitive analysis of business models, test and review search technology, and offer other consulting services that leverages this proprietary knowledgebase.
We also write a weekly newsletter about Web Search for About.com, and are building another extensive site with information and a resource directory for what's often called the Invisible Web.
